Rooting Instructions
- Modifying / replacing your phone's software may void the phone's warranty and may render phone to 'brick' status - meaning your phone will not be worth much more than a brick.
- Rooting a phone is entirely at your own risk. No one affiliated with ROMWarez is responsible for your decision to root your phone.
- Unlocking the bootloader on most phones will automatically wipe all data.
- Ensure phone is fully charged.
- Always backup your current Apps/Data/SMS Messages before performing any type of rooting procedure. Find these backup apps on Google Play.

Rooting Phone
- Download and install the phone's USB drivers for computer.
- Download and extract RootFiles.zip into a folder on computer desktop.
- Download Poot.apk and place in RootFiles folder.
- Download Ministro-II.apk and place in RootFiles folder.
- Download Superuser.apk and place in RootFiles folder.
- Download CWM-Recovery-LG-Optimus-Elite and place in RootFiles folder.
- Install Terminal Emulator from Google Play.
- Install FileManager from Google Play.
- Install Quick-Boot from Google Play.
- Enable USB debugging: Menu --> Settings --> Applications --> Development
- Enable Unknown Sources: Menu --> Settings --> Applications
- Ensure phone is placed in 'Charge Only' mode.
- Connect the phone to the computer via USB.
- Open RootFiles folder (downloaded and extracted in earlier step).
- Double-Click on the 'Open-Command-Prompt-cmd'.
- At command prompt, type: adb devices to confirm USB drivers installed. If USB drivers installed correctly, a serial number will be displayed.
- At command prompt, type: adb install poot.apk
- At command prompt, type adb push ministro-ii.apk /sdcard/
- From the phone, go to App Drawer and start Poot application. Ministro will then open and request some additional files be downloaded. Click on button to download.
- After Ministro files are installed, click on 'press here to poot' button.
- From command prompt, type: adb install superuser.apk
- From command prompt, type: adb install rootchecker.apk
- Start RootChecker on your phone (installed in earlier step) to verify root privileges. If phone is rooted, phone should display below screen shot:
Flash ClockWorkMod Recovery
- At command prompt, type adb push cwm-recovery-lg-optimus-elite.bin /sdcard/
- From phone start Terminal Emulator.
- At Terminal Emulator prompt, type:
- su then press the Enter button on virtual keyboard.
- dd if=/sdcard/cwm-recovery-lg-optimus-elite.bin of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p14 then press Enter button on virtual keyboard.
- Close Terminal Emulator.
- Open FileManager and navigate to /system/etc/
- Long press on install-recovery.sh and rename to install-recovery.sh.bak
- Quit FileManager (Menu Button --> Scroll down to 'Exit')
- Phone should now be able to reboot into recovery using Quick-Boot app installed in earlier step.
