Rooting Instructions


  • Modifying / replacing your phone's software may void the phone's warranty and may render phone to 'brick' status - meaning your phone will not be worth much more than a brick.

  • Unlocking the bootloader on most phones will automatically wipe all data.
  • Always backup your current Apps/Data/SMS Messages before performing any type of rooting procedure. Find these backup apps on Google Play.

Rooting Phone
  • Download and install the phone's USB drivers (HTC Sync) for computer.
  • Download and install HTC BMP Windows 32bit Driver.
  • Download and install HTC BMP Windows 64bit Driver.
  • Download and decompress the HTC All In One Tool Kit into a folder/directory on your desktop.
  • Enable USB debugging: Menu --> Settings --> Developer Options--> 
  • Enable Unknown Sources: Menu --> Settings --> Applications
  • Ensure phone is placed in 'Charge Only' mode.
  • Connect the phone to the computer through USB.
  • From the HTC All In One Took Kit folder, launch the One X+.exe file.
  • The below screen will be displayed: 

  • Click TWRP ATT/Telus and hit Flash Recovery.
  • Custom recovery will be flashed on phone.
  • Once the recovery has been flashed, click on Perm Root and select Run.
  • Root process will begin.
  • Phone is rooted!
